Eminem Sued Over Bathroom Brawl

Posted by Emil | July 7th, 2008 | No Comments

A Michigan man filed a lawsuit against Eminem on Thursday (Jul 3), seeking $25,000 in damages, the Detroit News reports.

Miad Jarbou’s assault and battery suit stems from an encounter with Em nearly two years ago in a Detroit strip club.

The plaintiff claims that on July 13, 2006, he and a friend attempted to speak to Eminem after the rapper, born Marshall Mathers III, entered a bathroom with a man assumed to be his bodyguard.

According to Jarbou, his friend spoke first saying, “Hey Eminem, what’s up man?” and was promptly told by the bodyguard to “Shut the fuck up.” Jarbou claims he spoke up in defense of his friend, only to have Eminem step away from a urinal and “without warning or provocation… [driving] his fist in a violent punching manner” into his face.

Eminem Pranks LL Cool J

Posted by Emil | June 11th, 2008 | 2 Comments

Eminem recently made an appearance on his Sirius radio station, Shade 45. Slim Shady called into the Tony Touch show while LL Cool J was on. Pretending to be a caller “Jason” from Miami, he challenged LL to a game of “name that tune.” LL Cool J agreed to the game, not knowing it was Eminem on the phone. After a few rounds, LL said “You sound good saying them joints. Damn, B. That sounds like you need to write some bars, homie.” Eminem finally gave up who he was by saying some lines from his own track, “Lose Yourself.”

Eminem went on to admit being a fan of LL’s since childhood and asked him to hang out and watch the NBA finals. “Listen, man, you got this relationship with Dre. You’re cool with 50, so when are we gonna hang out? I got cable at my house, and the game is on.” Eminem went on to say he is currently working in the studio on new music. “Everything is good. I’m just in the studio now working on songs.”

We reported earlier that Eminem was set to perform at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday party in London on June 27th. But apparently, this isn’t exactly true.

“He’s been approached, but it’s not confirmed,” says Dennis Dennehy, Interscope Records publicist.

So, we will just have to wait and see if Eminem will perform at the birthday party or not. One thing is sure though, we will keep you updated with the latest news!

Eminem will give a rare performance in June, when he performs at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday party.

According to reports, organizers contacted Eminem last month and he agreed to perform for the former South African president and former head of the African National Congress (ANC).

While Eminem’s name had surfaced in earlier reports about the celebration, it was not clear if he would take part in the event.

Fellow rapper Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith are hosting the star-studded celebration, which takes place June 27 in London’s Hyde Park.
