ChronicVacation.com Reviews Cashis’ “Euthanasia” LP

by Emil | July 3rd, 2009

Eddie G over at ChronicVacation.com got the chance to review Cashis’ upcoming digital LP, Euthanasia, before it hits stores. This is what he had to say about it:

Ca$his, Cuervo, Rikanatti and everyone over at Bogish Brand/Shady Records were awesome enough to let us get an exclusive preview of Ca$his’s new album “Euthanasia” before it hits stores next month.  The album is coming out through Ca$his’s own label Bogish Brand Entertainment in conjunction with Amalgam Digital, but don’t worry, Ca$his is still signed to Shady Records and his much anticipated debut album over there “The Art Of Dying” is coming later in the year.

“Euthanasia” is going to surprise a lot of people.  Most of you guys are probably expecting second-rate tracks since this is a digital LP coming before the major release, but that’s simply not the case.  “Euthanasia” sounds like the album I was expecting to hear from Ca$his on Shady.  Anyone who’s a fan of Ca$his knows that he’s one of the most talented lyricists on the West – the guy just has a way of painting a picture with words that no one can really fuck with.  For example, on the all-too-dope “Layin In A Casket,” the Shady Capo describes his own funeral, and then says crazy shit like, “Still the weed seeps out the little bitty holes/ Even when I’m gone, still smelling like dro.”

Ca$his gets funky on tracks like “Take U Home” too, which will touch the die-hard G-Funker in all of us.  As a matter of fact, “Euthanasia” is a West Coast-sounding record all the way.  It’s got a lot of the darker, later day-Dr. Dre style production, as well as some lighter funk that will keep shit fresh.  Confirmed production includes DJ Khalil, Rikanatti, Dae One, and Komplex, but they’re still recording a few more tracks for the record as we speak, so who knows who’s gonna make the final cut!

The bottom line is, “Euthanasia” is gonna be the solo project people have wanted to hear from Ca$his for a while now.  He kills it lyrically, and the production is solid throughout.  “The Art Of Dying” must be on some other shit too, because this album isn’t going to be easy to top.
